Yoga can be utilized as a healing tool for all. Understand how being trauma-informed can promote long-term healing for clients who have experienced trauma without triggering unwanted memories or sensations. This workshop will teach a trauma-informed approach to ensure that all students feel safe to experience yoga as an empowering, healing practice.

About the Author
An Afro-Latinx educator, artist, and healer, Ivelise Namaste was born and raised in Queens and Brooklyn. She currently teaches students from the Bronx and offers Reiki Healing Circles, Meditation, and Yoga classes to all. Since 2012, she has taught children with special needs and has used the art of writing, breathing, and yoga as a therapeutic tool for her students. After graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Africana Latino Studies and a Master’s Degree in Special Education, she began her journey as a yoga teacher. She has taught trauma-informed yoga to women living in shelters and has provided training to staff members supporting women who are victims of domestic violence. She is now working towards manifesting her dream of extending meditation, poetry, and yoga to communities in various areas of need. Ultimately, her mission in life is to extend and expand these practices and provide therapeutic support through different modalities of healing for generations to come.
