We believe the people closest to a community are often best positioned to support it.

Community Class Micro-Grants is a Yoga Alliance Foundation pilot program that supports yoga professionals in supporting their communities through yoga and meditation following a disruptive event.

    About Community Class Micro-Grants

Selected applicants receive $600 to offer at least six free yoga or meditation classes. As a pilot, we’ll continue learning from participants and refining the program over time, helping create moments of connection, grounding, and care as communities recover and rebuild.

Is this a fit for what you're planning?

This grant is built for teachers who want to:

    • Offer at least six free classes — yoga or meditation, in person or online, on whatever timeline makes sense for the people you’re serving. There’s no rush.
    • Serve a community affected by a disruptive event — you’ll tell us about that community in your own words.
    • Teach where you already have roots — as a member, a neighbor, a longtime teacher there. We’re not looking for a formal partnership or documentation. We’re looking for people who already know the room.
    • Teach within your training — a 200-hour certification or more, and the experience to safely offer what you’re describing.

If you read that and thought yes, that’s me, please apply.

A few practical things to know

    • One grant per person during the pilot. Our funding pool is small, and we want it to reach as many communities as possible. If you’ve received one before, we hope you’ll point another teacher toward this.
    • We can only fund some of the applications we receive. A decision that isn’t a yes reflects the size of the fund, not the worth of your work.
    • Applicants should be in good standing with Yoga Alliance, although applicants do not have to be Yoga Alliance members. Any misconduct or alleged misconduct, including violations of the Scope of Practice or Code of Conduct, or any other conduct or alleged conduct that does not align with Yoga Alliance’s mission and values, as determined in Yoga Alliance’s sole discretion,  may affect eligibility.
    • The application takes about 5–10 minutes. Plain questions, no essay. You’ll hear back within 7 business days.
    • Approved grants are paid through PayPal and sent within 7 days of approval, if possible, sooner.
