About the Author
Mary Medellin Sims is the Founder and Executive Director of Guided by Humanity and an E-RYT 500. She is deeply passionate and committed to health equity and believes that ALL human beings deserve equitable access to health. Mary has two decades of experience serving individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in various capacities from advocacy to direct care. With her passion and service in mind, Guided by Humanity was formed in 2017. She is also serving on the Board of Directors for ‘Accessible Yoga’, ‘Sana Yoga,’ and ‘The Wayfaring Band.’ She holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Midwestern State University, is an RYT 500, a Grief Support Yoga Therapist, and Certified Nursing Assistant. Additionally, Mary has trainings in Adaptive Yoga, Accessible Yoga, Yoga for the Special Child, Trauma-Informed Yoga, Trauma Sensitive Mindfulness, Restorative Yoga, and Yin Yoga.
