Yoga Alliance offers credentials for yoga providers that encourage quality teaching and inclusive yoga spaces.
Yoga Alliance Standards form the foundation of each credential and establish the ethical and educational framework for yoga providers globally. Credentials are granted to individuals and schools that meet these Standards and adhere to the Ethical Commitment.
The shared Ethical Commitment unifies Registered Yoga Teachers (RYTs) and Registered Yoga Schools (RYSs) around shared principles to strengthen and uphold the highest ethical standards in yoga instruction to pursue progress towards a more equitable and harmonious community, where all individuals can find their place in a yoga practice.

Earn a Credential
Become a Yoga Teacher
Yoga Alliance offers six Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) credentials for yoga teachers and educators. Currently, each credential requires adhering to Yoga Alliance’s shared Ethical Commitment and completing a minimum of 200 training and yoga teaching hours.

Yoga Alliance offers five Registered Yoga School (RYS) credentials. Yoga Alliance Standards form the foundation of each RYS credential and set the ethical and educational framework for yoga providers.

The Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider (YACEP) credential is designed for experts in the yoga community who teach courses that qualify as Continuing Education hours for Registered Yoga Teachers (RYTs).
RYTs can be assured that all courses taken with a YACEP count towards their Continuing Education hours.
