With Tammy as a guide, students discover how Yoga can enrich their lives, whether it's through physical well-being, stress reduction, or an increased sense of overall harmony. She encourages students to contemplate the purpose of Yoga "practice" and what it means to them personally. By embracing a holistic approach and adapting her teachings to suit individual needs, Tammy empowers her students to embark on their unique Yoga journeys and find profound meaning in their practice.

Tammy's classes offer a rich blend of practices tailored to the interests and needs of her students. Chanting, Yoga postures, breath work, visualization, self-reflection, and meditation are regularly incorporated into her classes. She also integrates additional practices that support personal growth and development throughout life's journey. With Tammy, each student experiences a Yoga class that is uniquely designed for them, ensuring a personalized and fulfilling experience.

In addition to her regular classes, Tammy has also gained considerable experience in conducting online classes and workshops through platforms like Zoom. Her virtual teaching has attracted students from various locations, including Hawaii, mainland USA, and Europe (subject to timezone restrictions). She possesses an extensive library of recorded classes and lectures, which can be accessed on-demand upon request.

For more than  two decades, Tammy has skillfully merged her extensive Yoga experience with her academic training, culminating in a unique teaching style that combines ancient traditions with modern perspectives. Her approach emphasizes the practical applications of Yoga to individuals' lives, focusing on improving physical health, reducing stress, and enhancing overall well-being. The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, along with more modern literature & philosophy,  shape both her personal practice and her teachings.

Who is Tammy? (will she every know?)

Tammy embarked on her Yoga journey in 1999 in southern California. Since then, she has devoted countless hours to attending classes, workshops, retreats, and receiving private instruction primarily from teachers of the Viniyoga tradition, particularly those associated with the American Viniyoga Institute (AVI). In 2007, she completed a rigorous 500-hour teacher training certification program offered by AVI and even authored a comprehensive Yoga Teachers' Guide to Yoga with Pregnant Women for their program.

Alongside her Yoga practice, Tammy holds a doctorate in physics, which she earned in 2004 from the University of California Irvine. Her background in physics and astronomy instills in her a deeply analytical approach to Yoga, both in her personal practice and as a teacher. While she has primarily been involved in astronomical research and science policy since 2004, teaching Yoga has always remained an integral part of her professional life..

Tammy's commitment to Yoga extends beyond her individual practice and teaching. She has collaborated with Mirka Scalco Kraftsow, assisting her in the Path to Wholeness retreat held in Assisi, Italy, during multiple years, including 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018, 2019, and 2022. Their collaborative efforts continue through a series of virtual Yoga classes via teleconferences and in-person workshops.
