Clarissa is the owner of Painted Lotus Yoga and Wellness, LLC in Tuscaloosa, AL. She has been a student of the practice since the mid-90's and brings over 16 years of teaching experience to her classes. Clarissa teaches from a place of reverence, curiosity, fun, and spontaneity. Her teaching is most often unscripted offering unique sequences inspired by the energy of the moment. Clarissa is known for her ability to cultivate community and teach to all levels of yoga experience. Through scientifically sound and spiritually grounded yoga practices, it is her intention to provide an inclusive, affirming class experience where students feel welcome and empowered.
Clarissa is registered with Yoga Alliance and, along with specialized training in various styles of yoga and other beneficial movement modalities, she holds the following certifications: ERYT200 (2008 - Yoga Bliss Tuscaloosa), ERYT500 (2016 - Rolf Gates Advanced Vinyasa Training), Restorative Yoga (2013 - Skyla Ramirez), Hanna Somatics (2018 - Akasha Ellis), Yoga for All (2018 - Diane Bondy), Accessible Yoga (2020 - Jivana Heyman/Amber Karnes), RCYT Yoga for Children and Teens with a Trauma Informed Focus (YogaEd - 2021).
