Irene enjoyed practicing Jivamukti yoga since 1991. Also, following in her ancestors medicinal footprints while living in NYC and travelling around Europe in the 90's she began self-study of Ayurveda.
Upon returning to her hometown in Puerto Rico in 2003 she rediscovered the enchantment of the sea, mountains and the many botanical resources available in the Island, practicing yoga every where she could. This served as the craddle for creating the concept of yogitourism.
In 2010 she decided to formalize her yoga education through a 200hrs Teacher certification mastering the Samadhi method. Later in 2019 completed a 300hr training on clinical yoga focusing on a deeper understanding of asana modifications for healing, breathing mindfulness and meditation for the prevention and treatment of some conditions.
Irene has an Ayurveda Wellness Counselor certification from Kerala Ayurveda Academy, so she delivers an ayurvedic perspective in the healing yoga for adults and children.
She also works as a volunteer with various children organizations and offers children yoga classes.
An experience artist and refocusing her experience in hospitality, service and marketing industries for over 25 years, Irene established Cay Wellness in 2021, introducing yogitourism.
