Shelly has been practicing yoga for over 20 years, initially seeking it out as a way to manage her stress. She soon noticed herself leaving her yoga sessions feeling more grounded, calm, and empowered in some way she couldn't quite identify at first. She also began to notice the physical benefits of more toned muscles, flexibility and strength.
Soon after experiencing the physical and emotional benefits, she found herself resonating with yogic philosophy and it's tenets on how to approach one's life.
One of the most powerful teachings for her has been learning how to experience oneself as an observer of the mind's stories rather than letting oneself swirl and be swept up in what may or may not be an accurate portrayal by the mind. You'll find her weaving these types of yogic insights into her physical classes - like small nuggets to ponder both on and off the mat.
Now, guiding others through a yoga practice and hearing their testimonials to the benefits, truly brings her joy and a sense of having contributed in a small but meaningful way.
Having taught for 8 years and nearly a 1000 classes, her offerings include restorative slow flow, high power flow, hatha style recovery for athletes, yoga to support addiction recovery (Y12SR) , specialty classes for private groups - including corporate and professional conferences and retreats - as well as individual sessions.
