I’ve been doing yoga since I was six years old and have experienced a host of different styles and practices over the decades. I recently did my 200 Hour Teacher Training in Thailand with Johnny Nasello and Ginger Reinelt who, in turn, are students of LA based Noah Mazé. The focus was on alignment-oriented yoga with an emphasis on injury-free movement and healthy living.
I’ve taught children’s yoga in a Boston school and enjoy sharing my enthusiasm for yoga - a practice and lifestyle that has helped me stay fit and limber over the long-haul. Most importantly, yoga is an effective tool to manage the inevitable emotional ups and downs that a life well-lived involves.
For me, yoga is not about achieving some extreme position to post on Instagram (I like to look though) but exploring and being okay with who I am physically and emotionally in the moment. Everyone, regardless of age or physical limitations, can benefit from yoga.
When not perfecting my downward dog, I’m a freelance writer specializing in travel, health and nutrition (www.healthydiethealthyyou.com). I’ve traveled the world by plane, train and, for a decade, by sailboat. In a past life, I was an entertainment attorney in film and television. I play tennis and lifeguard at a Cape Town beach. I’m also Mum to a very energetic and engaging 12 year old.
