Inspired by her mother, who started practicing yoga in the early '70s, Terri has followed a natural, holistic, and positive lifestyle since she was four years old. She offers a unique multidisciplinary approach to helping people from all walks of life live better lives. She is president of Power Living Enterprises, Inc., a business and life coaching company (www.power-living.com), and founder of Ta Yoga, which operates one of the first yoga studios in Harlem (www.tayoga.com). She is on the faculty of the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and is an active ambassador for the American Heart Association. Before becoming a social entrepreneur and health advocate, she was vice president of business operations for MTV Networks. She has received The Network Journal's 40 Under Forty Achievement Award, and the 2004 Teaching for Diversity Award from Kripalu Yoga Teachers Association. In 2006, she was selected as an “Emerging Entrepreneur” as part of an Inc. magazine - William J. Clinton Foundation Partnership. In 2008, she received the “Women Who Dare To Be Different” Award, presented by Congressman Edolphus Towns. Her accomplishments were added to the Congressional Record

Born in Ghana, schooled in Australia and Italy, Terri has a B.A. from Wellesley College, an MBA from Harvard Business School, and Ph.D. in World Religions. She is certified as a Hatha and gentle/chair yoga instructor by the Integral Yoga Institute and as a group fitness instructor, personal trainer, and lifestyle & weight management counselor by the American Council on Exercise. She has taken various advanced vinyasa yoga and meditation workshops. She also studied at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and is certified as a holistic health counselor. She is a sought-after motivational speaker and has been featured in media around the world from CNN, NBC, Fox TV News, Martha Stewart Living Radio and ARD TV in Germany to The New York Times, Prevention, Yoga Journal, Essence, and O: The Oprah Magazine. She is featured in numerous books including Case Histories: The Dynamic Future of Nutrition (2007) and Oprah’s Live Your Best Life! (2005). She is the producer of the Power Living®: Mini-Escapes relaxation CD, and author of 40 Days to Power Living®: Think, Eat & Live on Purpose, and The Power Living® Pledge: An Affirmation for a Purposeful and Powerful Life, as well as three case studies published under Harvard Business School Publishing.

Virginia S. Cowen, Ph.D, LMT, RYT, CSCS

Virginia is a health and fitness professional with over a decade of experience. She is active in research and has presented at several national conferences. Her research to date has included quantitative and qualitative explorations of yoga, therapeutic massage, physical activity and health behavior. Virginia holds a Ph.D from Arizona State University in curriculum and instruction: exercise and wellness, an M.A. from Columbia University in applied exercise physiology and a B.S. from Indiana University in music. She is a nationally certified (NCBTMB) massage therapist and holds multiple exercise/fitness certifications including: National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), American Council on Exercise (ACE) and Pilates (PhysicalMind Institute). Virginia is an assistant professor in the massage therapy program at Queensborough Community College - the City University of New York.

Bob Patrick, RYT

Bob has studied yoga for almost 20 years, primarily in the Iyengar tradition. He has taught for the past four years . Since 2000, Bob has served as a Board Member and officer of the Mid-Atlantic Yoga Association (MAYA), which serves yoga students and teachers regionally. He organized the MAYA Forum for Studio Directors and Independent Teachers for the discussion of business related issues. It was through conversations with YA staff that participated in the forum that Bob became interested in Yoga Alliance.
Bob is an attorney. He retired in 2005, concluding a 30 year career in bank regulation, most recently with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in Washington, DC. Bob has been active in many civic organizations including Common Cause, two Unitarian Universalist churches, an affordable housing loan program, two tutoring programs for disadvantaged youth, and several neighborhood associations. He and his wife, Sheila, live on a lake in Georgetown, KY, where they enjoy kayaking, gardening, and spending time with their friends.

Felicia Boyd, PMP, RYT

Felicia is an Information Technology executive, business consultant, writer and yogini who partners with government and non-profit organizations to plan and translate strategic visions into successful programs, policy and solutions. With over 20 years of experience in corporate and public service, Felicia seeks to expand awareness of yogic principles in addressing work-life balance issues and in influencing public policy to national and global problems. Felicia has been a student of the eight-fold path of yoga since 1979 and combines community service with her interest in yogic philosophy and quantum physics through teaching yoga and meditation to individuals and organizations throughout the greater Washington, D.C. area.
Felicia has held management positions at Digital Equipment Corporation and Lucent Technologies, and is presently a program manager with the U.S. Department of Transportation. Felicia completed a Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University and holds Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute. She is a certified Sampoorna yoga teacher, a Self-Realization Fellowship (SRF) Kriya initiate and is a co-owner of a retreat center outside of Fayetteville, North Carolina. She is married with three wonderful daughters.

Tracey Bartos, RYT

Tracey is the owner of Wisdom and Wellness Yoga Studio in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. A successful entrepreneur, she has been president/CEO of her own companies for over a dozen years. She also teaches Kinesiology at Penn State University, Greater Allegheny campus. Tracey holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education. She received her initial yoga teacher training at the Yoga Institute in Houston and is a graduate of Yoga Fit’s YA registered teacher training program. Tracey makes meditation, positive intention and asana part of her daily life. She is passionate about yoga and education as well as upholding the YA mission of extending the benefits of both to others.

Lynn A. Bushnell, E-RYT

A certified instructor in Ananda Yoga and meditation, Lynn’s passion for yoga has lead her to study a variety of traditions in both the United States and Japan. Through studying the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda and Raja Yoga, she found her “yogic center” in Ananda Yoga. She considers Diksha and Gyandev McCord her Ananda mentors. She has also studied under Pranaba Hansen delving deep into the Yoga Sutras and meditation.
Lynn teaches a variety of yoga and meditation classes and workshops privately and at Yoga Works in Southern California. Lynn and her family live in Laguna Niguel, California.

Joanne L. Perron, MD, FACOG, RYT

Dr. Joanne Perron is a board certified OB/GYN, yoga teacher and a determined and inspiring cancer survivor. A teacher of Vinyasa Flow and Restorative Yoga, she is currently training to be a Wellness Coach. Additionally, she has also completed Dr. Andrew Weil’s Program in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona, Tucson. Shortly after completing the program, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and drew upon everything she had learned to begin healing. When chemotherapy caused permanent nerve damage in her hands and forced her to shutter her thriving medical practice, Jo turned yoga to help her continue as a healing professional. She believes that the presence of yoga in her life allowed her to weather the challenges of cancer treatment, recovery and the grief she felt when she had to close her practice. Her inspiring healing journey was featured in Yoga Journal. Drawing upon her own personal experience, her interests include helping cancer survivors integrate wellness into their quest to regain their quality of life.
Dr. Perron is blessed with a wonderful family and healing environment of the beautiful Monterey Bay in California.
